Quarry

The Idea
Quarry starts at the block. The stone decides the dimension, which means the run is never quite uniform and the veining is never repeated.
Honed rather than polished, so the surface stays matte and shows a fingerprint less.

The Designer
Adélie Ducasse trained as a cabinetmaker before turning to design, and it shows in the joinery — nothing is hidden, nothing is glued where it could be pegged.
Her pieces for Studio Bizar began with a single question: what does a chair owe the room it stands in? The answer, so far, has been restraint.
The Quarry Collection
Stone-topped occasional tables and stools cut from single slabs.
