The Symi Stool - Outdoor
by Adélie Ducasse, Atelier Ducasse
Our Symi stool is a remarkable fusion of form and function. Shaped beautifully with its curves and fine details, the reclaimed teak wood makes this design absolutely stunning.
The carefully recycled timber gives this product character and brings an earthy vibe to your home. Versatile in its use - it can be a stool and a side table at any moment - it's suitable for outdoor as well as rain water runs off easily.
Handmade from teak wood, each piece features gentle imperfections and tonal shifts as quiet signatures of its unique soul. To maintain its warmth and rich tone, simply apply a light coat of oil periodically.

The Idea
The Symi Stool - Outdoor was drawn for The Quarry Collection — which meant working inside the collection's rules before anything else: one material family, honest thickness, and no detail that exists only to be looked at.
The prototype went through the workshop three times. What survived is the version where nothing further could be taken away without the piece stopping working.

The Designer
Adélie Ducasse trained as a cabinetmaker before turning to design, and it shows in the joinery — nothing is hidden, nothing is glued where it could be pegged.
Her pieces for Studio Bizar began with a single question: what does a chair owe the room it stands in? The answer, so far, has been restraint.
