The Burned Jar - L
by Amare, Amare Studio
Handmade from terracotta and gently kissed by fire, The Burned Jar carries a quiet, elemental beauty that feels both ancient and contemporary. This large terracotta jar is softly rounded and smoke-darkened to bring warmth to any table.
Crafted in Java, each jar reveals subtle variations in its charred patina. The short lid with pointed knob protects your ingredients with care, while two symmetrical side protrusions allow you to move the jar with ease.
Perfect for storing everyday kitchen essentials, this gentle piece transforms simple moments into small rituals of enjoyment. Complete its beauty with other pieces from The Burned Collection. To preserve its character, we recommend hand washing and gentle drying, avoiding harsh chemicals that may affect the natural surface.

The Idea
The Burned Jar - L was drawn for The Terra Collection — which meant working inside the collection's rules before anything else: one material family, honest thickness, and no detail that exists only to be looked at.
The prototype went through the workshop three times. What survived is the version where nothing further could be taken away without the piece stopping working.

The Designer
Amare works only with fibres that will age well — linen, hemp, undyed wool — and refuses anything that looks worse after a decade than it did on the first day.
Colour comes from madder, indigo and walnut, so no two runs are identical.
